4WD Motor Home

It took two years to put together our Mitsubishi Canter 4WD truck and we have just spent 8 months touring Oz.

It works really well off-road and in some very challenging conditions with no breakages. Fuel economy varied
between 6 and 8 kilometres per litre; worst economy was in heavy sand 4WD, sometimes for 100's of ks.

The Canter is tough and serviceable anywhere in Australia. Because we wanted a strong off-road that was as
light weight as possible, all the sub frame, frame, cladding and furniture is made of aluminium, making a total
finished vehicle weight of just 3.8 tonnes and 4.4 tonnes fully laden. The cab-chassis was 2.6 tonnes to start with.

The finished height is 2.9m and the total length is just 5.4m which is the same length as a Toyota troopie.
